MA Music Therapy
After gaining her music degree at the University of Wolverhampton in 2000, Davina spent some time working with a team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists. She went on to train as a music therapist in Cambridge at Anglia Ruskin University, qualifying in 2006 and has worked in a variety of settings since then.
Davina has gained a wide variety of experience; working with children with learning disabilities, with severe emotional and behavioural difficulties and children in crisis to adults with mental health issues, learning disabilities and older people group work. She thrives in setting up new and innovative pieces of work and has specialised in short term intervention to support both client and institution.
Davina has used her experience with Music Therapy Works to gain her masters and has presented a paper focusing on short-term therapy at conference. She has particularly enjoyed working in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary team, particularly schools and social services to cohesively support children who find themselves in crisis.
