Music connects us to our deepest feelings and experiences. Music therapists create music with their clients. Through playing music together and listening to music, the therapist aims to support positive changes in the client’s emotional well-being, behaviour and self-awareness. It is not necessary to be able to play an instrument in order to access music therapy.
For many people who are feeling stressed, isolated and vulnerable in society, music therapy can help to make connections and enable an exploration and expression of individuality, personality and social and cultural diversity.
