CLINICAL EXPERTISE
MTW therapists bring to each session their clinical knowledge and understanding of neurology, cognition, communication, development, socialisation skills and emotional well-being needs. MTW therapists share a focus on psychotherapeutic approaches which informs every aspect of our work and allows us to provide a multi-layered intervention.

Music therapy constructs a safe, consistent and predictable setting to attain non-musical therapeutic goals. Yet it is infinitely flexible; changing with the client from one moment to the next in order to match the individual’s reactions and support their feelings, memories or behaviours.

Shared musical experiences using rhythm, melody or harmony can be immediate, organising, motivating and thrilling; establishing trust, exploring relationships and creating bridges where previously these connections have not been possible.

Our strategies are informed by both our many years of experience and our ongoing commitment to CPD ensuring that the team remains strongly connected with current music therapy research. We use a wide variety of live music, genres and instruments whilst constantly observing the client’s responses and adjusting our music to meet their needs. Singing and playing in a session can be the experience that ultimately sets the client on a path towards transforming their lives for the better.
