Beth Forsyth

(she/her)

BA(Hons)

MA Music Therapy

After completing her Music Therapy training at the University of Derby, Beth joined Music Therapy Works in 2021.

Currently working with children, young people and adults with additional needs, Beth was inspired to train as a Music Therapist after researching the positive impact of music on the brain and the use of Music Therapy to improve the mobility of stroke patients.

Based in the East Midlands, Beth has previously worked in healthcare and coordinated a small charity for older people experiencing feelings of loneliness and isolation. She has undertaken voluntary work at a group for people living with dementia, has experience of both mainstream and special educational needs schools and has worked in stroke rehabilitation.

Other areas of special interest include women’s social activities in the mid twentieth century, specifically looking at their involvement in choirs and an ambition to train in Neurologic Music Therapy.

Beth plays the flute and piano.
