Emma has been studying Music Therapy at the University of West of England since 2019. Prior to that she obtained a First class honours degree in Education at Worcester University.
Emma gained a diploma playing the Trombone at the Birmingham Conservatoire in 1998. Since then, Emma has worked as a Head of Department in Music at a middle school in Bromsgrove, where she particularly enjoyed running the schools singing groups and extracurricular ensembles.
For the last 15 years Emma has worked for the Solihull Music Service teaching a wide range of instruments, to varying ages. These include individuals, small groups and whole classes.
During her time there, she has been involved in lots of different projects and ensembles including world music roadshows, song writing projects and has always seen music as a therapeutic tool to support pupils in all of her settings.
Emma’s clinical experience includes working with children within special schools and mainstream settings, adults with FND, and adults with PMLD.
