Sheilpa Chauhan
(she/her)
Sheilpa had her sights set on being a music therapist from the age of fourteen, when she discovered a career where her love for music could be used to support others. She has worked in a variety of settings including adult mental health, dementia care, mainstream and SEN educational settings, and adults with learning difficulties.
Her work since graduating as music therapist from Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2017, mainly consisted of leading family groups and individual sessions with parents and their children, where she enjoyed seeing each child’s growth and development, through working collaboratively with the families and staff members.
Sheilpa also worked as a facilitator for musical sensory classes for babies and their parents and carers.
She is a violinist and a pianist and has also taught both of these instruments both privately and in schools.
Sheilpa joined Music Therapy Works in 2024 and is thoroughly enjoying her work in a special school with students aged two to nineteen.
