We are recruiting a new Chair of Trustees
Could you be our new Chair?
Are you based in the West or East Midlands and looking for an opportunity to create positive social change and lead a group of people focused on a common goal? Our current Chair is retiring, so we are looking for a new motivated and experienced Chair or a very experienced Trustee looking for their first Chair role. Someone committed to working with our Board of Trustees, with the sole aim of achieving MTW's aims and enabling even more people to benefit from Music Therapy.
How can a new Chair of Trustees help us to achieve our mission?
Our mission is to deliver: “High quality Music Therapy for clients, innovative collaborations with partners and wider understanding of the benefits of music for all.” As our Chair, you will be responsible for leading our Board of Trustees to deliver our strategic plan, whilst supporting our Chief Executive and acting as the public face and an ambassador of the charity.
We're looking for a Chair with the following capabilities, qualities and behaviours.....
- Leadership: able to lead MTW in partnership with our CEO and staff
- Clarity of purpose: work with the Board of trustees to ensure decisions made advance the purpose, strategy and values of MTW
- Cohesive board: create a productive working environment whilst facilitating constructive trustee meetings
- Decision-making: able to steer the Board in key governance decisions and ensuring well founded decision-making
- Ambitious for positive social change: motivated to make a difference and lead this charity into its next strategic phase of growth and development
- Motivated: facilitative, empowering, approachable, able to delegate
- Capacity to lead: keen to commit, able to devote time and effort to the role
- Attributes: confident, organised, focused, able to see the ‘bigger picture’
- Ease of self: flexible, non-judgemental, emotionally intelligent, self-aware plus a good sense of humour always helps!
